Design Services

Can you host my Website?

Yes. We offer four different Web Hosting Plans to choose from.

Can you host my images?

No. You will need to have a hosting account. This can be either your own domain name with FTP access, or an image hosting service that can accept both .gif and .jpg file formats. It is important that your hosting service does not rename or resize the images when uploading. See our Resource Links page for image hosting services.

Will I be able to maintain my site?

That depends on the amount of HTML experience you have.

Our eBay templates and stores can be TagBotted so that minimal HTML experience is necessary.

Zen Carts require almost no HTML experience as most of the work is done through the administration end. Custom Zen Cart pages are usually done with HTML though and rarely need updated.

Static Websites will need a little more HTML knowledge.

We do give instructions after your project is completed, and are more than happy to give additional support at hourly rates.

What happens if I try to edit my files and mess up the code?

Unless you own a good HTML editor such as Dreamweaver, we recommend always using Notepad to edit your files. Frontpage and Microsoft Word both will alter the code, and we will NOT fix any files opened in either of those programs. See our Resource Links page for free HTML editor alternatives.

How much support do you give on my eBay Store?

Once your store is installed, we provide free support for 7 days which includes minor changes such as link changes and typos. We will not make any design changes or change out any images. You are free to make any changes yourself to your files depending on your HTML skills. Please note that we charge a fee of $35 if you ask us to fix code you tried to modify after we install your store and deliver your template, even if it is within the 7 days free support. Updates to eBay projects will be charged at hourly rates of $35 an hour. If you wish to host your own CSS/JS files (you must have a Web hosting account), we will not be responsible if the Store/Template stops displaying properly because of changes made by eBay.

Will my site look correct in all browsers?

Designing a Web design project to fully work in multiple browsers (and browser versions) can require considerable effort and can involve creating multiple versions of code. KDWHD represents and warrants that the code we deliver to you will work in the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. While KDWHD will make reasonable efforts to produce fully-functional code, KDWHDs warranty does not cover AOL, text-based browsers or requested special effects that we have advised Client against.

What do you use to design my project?

All Web design projects created by KDWHD are done using Macromedia Dreamweaver and NotePad. We do not use Frontpage or Microsoft Word due the poor coding the software tends to produce. We use PhotoShop and Illustrator for graphics. We do not use ‘purchased” graphics.

What if I furnish the images/copy?

The Client unconditionally guarantees that any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork furnished to KDWHD for inclusion in any Web design project are owned by the Client, or that the Client has permission from the rightful owner to use each of these elements, and will hold harmless, protect, indemnify and defend KDWHD from any liability (including attorney’s fees and court costs), including any claim or suit, threatened or actual, arising from the use of such elements furnished by the Client.

How will you deliver my project?

Final Web design projects will be published to the Client’s hosting service, and a zip file of the entire site will be provided for downloading and saving by the Client. The Client understands that KDWHD does not provide any hosting services in connection with any Web design projects. Hosting services require a separate contract with the hosting service of the Client’s choice. The Client agrees to select a hosting service which allows KDWHD full access to the Client’s account via FTP if necessary. The Client will be solely responsible for any and all hosting service charges.

Do you or I own the finished files?

Copyright to the finished Web design projects produced by KDWHD will be owned by KDWHD. The Client will be assigned rights to use the Web design projects once final payment under this agreement and any additional charges incurred have been paid. Rights to photos, graphics, source code, work-up files, and computer programs are specifically not transferred to the Client, and remain the property of their respective owners. All Web design projects will contain a copyright/legal statement with a link to KDWHD.

Does my eBay Store need to be opened before you being work?

It is not mandatory to have your store open while we are working on your design. But it must be opened before the final proof. If you have ordered a custom navigation, your store categories MUST be setup before we can finish the navigation. If you have ordered a custom template, ‘me’ page or any other custom store item, your store will have to be opened to be able to add the correct links.

What do I need to provide before you begin work on my project?

* Your eBay store address or eBay ID (if applicable).
* All category ID numbers if ordering a custom navigation.
* All text and images that are to be included.
* For Websites/Pages, domain registered and hosting account.

What is TagBot, and why would I need/use it?

TagBot is a small free program that you download onto your computer (PC only). TagBot allows you to enter your auction information in an easy-to-use form. You never have to touch the HTML except to copy/paste the code into the description area on eBay, Turbolister, or any other auction listing service that allows you to ‘paste’ your own code. TagBotted templates are great for those that are not comfortable editing HTML documents or just would like an easier and faster way to create their listings.
